Abstract:
Though Asthma is an increasingly common problem during pregnancy,
pregnancy induced asthma is certainly rare case. Early diagnosis following
the prescribed procedures, proper treatment according to current NAEPP
recommendations, educating pregnant woman for self care and follow-up at
a regular interval is crucial for managing pregnancy induced asthma. If
asthma patients during pregnancy are managed using step care therapeutic
approach, mild to moderate asthma can be associated with excellent maternal
and perinatal pregnancy outcomes. Early institution of this form of treatment
could reduce hospital stay. Further research on this topic is recommended.
