Abstract:
Background & Aims: Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the major causes of respiratory tract infection. It has been found that this organism is being increasingly resistant to broad spectrum antibiotics especially â- lactam antibiotics mediated by extended Spectrum â-lactamase (ESBL) enzymes. The present study was undertaken to determine the antibiogram and the incidence of ESBL
production among Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated from sputum.
